HUBUNGAN BEBAN GLIKEMIK DAN IMT DENGAN KADAR GULA DARAH PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2
Abstract
Elevated blood sugar levels in DMT2 patients over a long period can trigger complications. Nutritional management which includes low glycemic load intake and weight loss to body mass index (BMI) values in the normal range is needed to control blood sugar levels. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between glycemic load and BMI on blood sugar levels in outpatients with T2DM. This study was a quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The respondents in this study were 88 T2DM patients which was determined through accidental sampling techniques. Glycemic load data was collected through direct interviews with the SQ-FFQ method in the past month, and BMI was obtained from direct weight and height measurements. The blood sugar level data was the fasting blood sugar level (FBG) obtained from laboratory results. The data was analyzed using the spearman-rho test. The results showed that the average glycemic load of the respondents was 118.34±35.38. Meanwhile, the average BMI value was 25.74±4.21 kg/m2 and the average FBG was 157.9±64.64 mg/dL. The results of the relationship between glycemic load and blood sugar levels showed p-value = 0.000 and r = 0.68, while the relationship between BMI and blood sugar level showed p-value = 0.000 and r = 0.512. There was a significant positive relationship between glycemic load and BMI on blood sugar levels in T2DM outpatients.
Peningkatan kadar gula darah pada pasien DMT2 dalam jangka waktu yang lama dapat memicu terjadinya komplikasi. Penatalaksanaan gizi yang meliputi asupan beban glikemik rendah dan penurunan berat badan hingga nilai indeks massa tubuh (IMT) pada rentang normal diperlukan untuk mengontrol kadar gula darah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan beban glikemik dan IMT dengan kadar gula darah pada pasien rawat jalan diabetes melitus tipe 2. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Responden dalam penelitian yaitu 88 pasien DMT2 yang ditentukan melalui teknik accidental sampling. Data beban glikemik dikumpulkan melalui wawancara langsung dengan metode SQ-FFQ satu bulan terakhir, IMT melalui pengukuran berat badan dan tinggi badan secara langsung, kemudian data kadar gula darah merupakan kadar gula darah puasa (GDP) yang diperoleh dari hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium pasien. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji spearman rho. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata beban glikemik responden sebesar 118,34±35,38. Sedangkan nilai IMT rata-rata sebesar 25,74±4,21 kg/m2 dan rata-rata GPD sebesar 157,9±64,64 mg/dL. Hasil uji hubungan antara beban glikemik dengan kadar gula darah menunjukkan p-value = 0,000 dan r = 0,68, sementara hubungan IMT dengan kadar gula darah menunjukkan p-value = 0,000 dan r = 0,512. Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara beban glikemik dan IMT dengan kadar gula darah pada pasien rawat jalan diabetes melitus tipe 2.
